Your memories may fade but at least your canvas print will not

Jacob Hill - Tuesday, February 16, 2010
Do you look at the old photos and canvas prints at your parents house that bring those special memories back. Have you noticed how over the years some of the photos and canvas prints have faded and discouloured. It's a big shame when this happens and It only seemed like yesterday the photo prints were taken.

With modern photo printing methods and substrates, your photos fading on canvas prints are coming a thing of the past.

Unfortunately you mybe being mislead when buying photo canvas prints. A lot of businesses state that their canvas prints will not fade for 75 or 100 years, this is the true only if they are using a branded high quality canvas that will also last 100 years. What some businesses are not telling their consumers is that the cheap canvas substrate they print on will not last 100 years. Should you care, you should because your grandchildren will appreciate it in years to come.

Where at Scriveners we take a different approach. We understand the importance of holding on to those happy loving memories.

That is why they use acid free Chromata White™ canvas that will not yellow for 100 years and genuine Canon inks that will also last a 100 years, which will give you a photo canvas print that will last a life time and will be around for generations to come.

So when you loose your most loved photo on your computer and your memory ends up like a goldfish, at least you and your grandchildren will be grateful that you ordered your photos onto canvas from scrivs.co.uk.

Also if you have any old photos that you want printed on to canvas. Then we can also do this for you with out High End Crosfeild Drum Scanner of which we are led to believe there are only 10 left in the UK that are up and running

Photo canvas prints not only make great pieces of wall art for your own home. They can be given as gifts to others or they can be used to help personalise any space and really make that space your own. Choose a picture or image that is relevant to the room, the recipient, and any design scheme that you might want to follow and find the photo and choose the dimensions to match.

Just as important as the inks used, are the canvas printers utilized as well. You should investigate that the canvas printing company you select has spared no expense by investing in the most sophisticated canvas printing technologies and machines available.

I've been a victim of others who say that their canvass will last long. It only lasted for months. It's a sad story for me but at least now I stumbled on this blog. Will definitely be bookmarking it.

I think that the best way to store a photo is in multiple places. You can always use home computer, and then digital storage online, like skydrive, and then there is always the print option.

I have just started offering canvas prints to the brides of weddings that I photograph, and they love them!

Generally, they are just as excited by the canvas prints as they are by the albums, it's been a great success.

Have not printed photos in years - use memory sticks on the TV, PC or memory picture frames plus online services like Picassa.

I'm unaware of that. I thought all types of canvass are the same. I never ask and inquire these things. This gave me good me tips. Most of my photos we' re all saved on hardisc and CDs.

You heading of the post is really have depth. I am very much impressed with it. Some time what happened that there is no fault of canvas rather it is the fault of wall on which you use to hang out the canvas because the wall has wetness which may cause of canvas fading.

Canvas photo prints look a lot better better than simply prints. Thanks for the links, we've been looking for a place to have these done!

I've thought many times about the canvas option. Everyone always talks about light and how long it will last without fading but what about dust and cleaning ? How is this achieved ?

One of the most awesome print projects I've had done was on canvas. It was a forest picture I took up in the New England states in the Fall.

I also had the same image done with a Photoshop plugin that made it appear as an oil painting...absolutely breathtaking!

They also sprayed it with a clear coating that keeps the ink from aging and protects it as well.

If you have a priceless picture that you want to enhance, I highly recommend trying out a canvas print, you won't regret it!

People, I know we are in a crisis, but when you decide have a photo on canvas, go for the best quality and not for the lowest price. The difference in quality can be huge

yes, pictures fade but with the new technology nowadays like photo restoration, you don't have to worry anymore.

Canvas provides a unique and long-lasting way to preserve memories. If kept in the right conditions, printing pictures on canvas will allow your memories to last nearly 100 years in pristine condition. Even storing your digital photos on the computer does not create such a long life expectancy. This long lasting quality will allow your memories to last throughout the generations for your family and friends to enjoy.
